Through grants, contracts for service, and collaboration with partners, we are able to develop initiatives that combine:
Under an ongoing grant contract from the Minnesota Youth Tobacco Prevention Initiative, we provide assistance to local officials, community groups and others across Minnesota, helping them address issues of tobacco and health. Our WorkSHIFTS program works in partnership with labor to heighten awareness among workers, labor leaders, and management about the harmful impact of tobacco smoke.
At the national level, we have joined other legal centers to launch the Tobacco Control Legal Consortium, which supports the creation of new legal resources for tobacco control advocates. Internationally, we have worked with the World Health Organization, the American Lung Association, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine on international tobacco regulation, global litigation, and access to tobacco industry documents. Our director monitored the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control public health treaty negotiations.
