William Mitchell’s Multicultural Affairs office strives to:
- Strengthen the diversity of the law school community by
supporting the recruitment of faculty with ethnically and culturally
diverse backgrounds.
- Promote tolerance and responsible self-conduct that reflects the
highest standards of the legal profession in serving clients,
regardless of ethnicity, culture, nationality, religion, sexual
orientation, or disability.
- Support constituencies whose goals are consistent with those of
William Mitchell College of Law
and the Office of Multicultural
Affairs.
- Ensure law students are trained in a culturally sensitive and
competent manner.
- Implement educational programs and support activities that
encourage diverse students into legal careers.
- Provide opportunities to understand the diverse cultural context
of constituents and work toward eliminating barriers in the American
legal system.
- Increase involvement in the bar organizations and communities
surrounding William Mitchell College of Law and support efforts to
bring the community into the law school.
