Status: Full-Time
The Senior Communications Specialist is a key contributor in the creation of communications that supports the college’s marketing and college relations initiatives. The main areas of responsibility include: plan, write, and edit copy for all types of print publications and electronic media including alumni magazine, brochures, social media postings, website, emails, and e-newsletters. This position will also be responsible for hands-on research and ensuring consistent messaging in all college communication.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in English or journalism; 5-7 years of experience in the following: writing and editing; event promotions; media relations; and project management. Also required are: hands-on experience producing publications; strong written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on detail and accuracy; the ability to solve problems and work independently; and the ability to work well with people and serve as a resource. Knowledge of desktop publishing and Internet publishing software are a plus.
