Scholarships are awarded based on merit or need. All first-year students' admission applications are reviewed for merit scholarship eligibility. No additional application is needed to be considered for a merit-based scholarship, and you will be notified if you qualify. If you receive a merit-based scholarship and do not wish to apply for federal, non-federal loans, or work-study, an additional financial aid application is not required.

Need-based scholarships are based on information submitted on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All students, continuing and first-year, who complete and submit a FAFSA by the priority awarding deadline of March 15, 2008, are automatically considered for need-based scholarships. Notification of a need-based scholarship will be included with your financial aid eligibility materials.

Named Scholarships

Throughout the year, available "Named Scholarships" for continuing students will be announced in the Financial Aid section of The Docket. Carefully read the application information. Each William Mitchell sponsored scholarship requires an application accompanied by the Named Scholarship Application Cover Sheet. Applications are submitted to the financial planning office. Scholarship recipients are announced in The Docket.
