There are lovely bike trails near our house that will take you to the UMN in about 35 minutes should you need to go there. We are within walking distance of 4 grocery stores and a mile from Como lake. We are also about 5 blocks away from Hwy 94. We live in an ethnically diverse part of St. Paul where one of its best features are the numerous Asian restaurants. The address is 1022 Edmund Ave. St. Paul, MN 55104. We share the entire house which includes an updated kitchen, 2 updated bathrooms, den, living room, dining room, study, laundry room, sitting room and 7 bedrooms. Lots of flower gardens surround the house, and a vegetable garden nearby. We live a communal lifestyle as friends. We try to do a fun activity together once a week. The nature of the activity is determined by the people in the house. In the past, we have enjoyed a weekly community dinner to which we enjoy inviting friends. This year, to the weekly dinner, we have added bowling, movies, ice skating and game nights. Also, there is lots of hanging out in the kitchen where good conversation takes place. We follow a few rules to keep things running smoothly in the house and to reduce cleaning time, like taking our shoes off at the door, and eating only in the kitchen and dining room, not in our bedrooms. We all do a weekly cleaning job, make sure we clean up after ourselves in the kitchen, and bathroom, and to maintain privacy, have no over night romantic guests. We also recycle, compost and try to buy as little plastic as possible. The people living here since the fall have been as follows: Colleen, a grad student at St. Kates in Library Science, Jaime, a business student at Hamline University, Andre, a political science major at Hamline University, Emily, a grad studen at the UMN in Inian literature, Gabe, a law student at William Mitchell, the dog, Daisy, a cocker spaniel, and me, the home owner. The lease follows the school schedule allowing for two move out dates: May 31st and August 31st. You must give notice two months notice prior to the move out date or forfeit the security deposit of one month's rent. I have been sharing my large house with people from all over the world for about 9 years and love it. The people attracted to community living are kind, friendly and interesting. It is a great way to live. We are looking for someone interested in cooperative living, enjoys people, has a steady income, and no furniture to bring since the house is fully furnished, enjoys keeping a house clean and neat, interested in organic gardening, enjoys hanging out with his or her housemates, and is looking to stay long-term.
