Professor of Law and Director of Intellectual Property Law Studies Prof. Port's specialty is U.S. and international trademark law. His research and writing focus on trademark law and policy in the United States and on a host of issues regarding law in Japan. He has won the Ladas Memorial Award, which annually recognizes the best published trademark law article in the world. |

Associate Professor of Law Prof. Erstling joined the William Mitchell faculty in 2007. Formerly, he was the director of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) and advisor to the director general of the World Intellectual Property Organization. The PCT allows inventors to preserve the right of their inventions in 135 countries around the world. Before working at the PCT, he was an officer and member of the intellectual property and international law practice groups at Fredrikson & Byron. |
