Wednesday1 Outlining: How to Create an Effective Outline

The Academic Achievement Program director and staff will offer Academic Achievement Workshops throughout the year on a variety of topics, including study strategies, time and stress management, critical reading, case briefing, legal analysis, outlining, and exam taking.   The workshops are open to all students, and all are encouraged to attend.  Each workshop is offered twice: Thursdays from noon to 1 pm, and Saturdays from 10 to 11 am.

Conference for community organizers, community developers, justice advocates, academics, politicians, political activists, and community members on racial equity, social and economic justice, and sustainable communities. This event is presented by community development professionals from the LISC Careership Program and students from William Mitchell College of Law and Metropolitan State University, and is sponsored by Twin Cities LISC and the Office of Multicultural Affairs at William Mitchell College of Law. Cost (including lunch) is $15 by Sept. 19 and $20 after. Registration deadline: Sept. 30.

Robert Meeropol: Guilt by Association, Then and Now: The Rosenberg Case and the War on Terrorism

Robert Meeropol, whose parents Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for espionage by the U.S. government in 1953, will present "Guilt by Association, Then and Now: The Rosenberg Case and the War on Terrorism" on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 4 to 6 pm at William Mitchell College of Law.

Meeropol will answer audience questions and sign copies of his book, An Execution in the Family, which will be available for purchase. This free public event is sponsored by William Mitchell College of Law, the National Lawyers Guild, the Minnesota Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, and Professor C. Peter Erlinder.

Friday31 The Community Organizer and the Lawyer: So what does a community organizer do?

Join us for the first in a series of William Mitchell Community Development Forums on Friday, Oct. 31, from noon to 1:30 p.m. As part of the continuing discussion about the value of community organizing and the role of lawyers in that work, join community organizers from Summit University Planning Council, Harrison Neighborhood Association, St. Stephens Human Rights program and attorneys from the Housing Preservation Project and APAC for a discussion of what community organizers do, how lawyers can help with that work and how lawyers can hinder or hurt that work. The forums are co-sponsored by the William Mitchell Student Chapter of Minnesota Justice Foundation and the William Mitchell Community Development Clinic. PLP Perspectives credit is available. No charge. Open to the public.

A complimentary brunch reception to celebrate the swearing in of William Mitchell College of Law Alumni before the MN Supreme Court.

Alumni being sworn in are invited to attend this complimentary brunch with one guest.  Additional guests are $12.00.  Children under age 5 may attend free of charge.

Honorees for the ceremony need to be in place at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium by 10:20 A.M.
