William Mitchell College of Law students, alumni to provide legal support at new pro se clinic

People representing themselves in court—called pro se litigants—will have access to legal support from William Mitchell College of Law students and alumni at a new Pro Se Clinic sponsored by the Minnesota Justice Foundation.

The clinic opens Saturday, Sept. 12, and will run from 2 to 4 pm each Saturday through Nov. 21.

The Minnesota Justice Foundation is making CLE credit available to attorneys who volunteer at the William Mitchell Pro Se Clinic. Contact MJF at 651-290-7609 for information.

Appointments are necessary and can be arranged by calling 651-695-7609.

Volunteer law students and practicing attorneys will staff the clinic. The volunteers will provide advice and brief service in three areas: uncontested dissolutions (divorces), child support modification, and criminal expungement. Clients with other legal questions or issues will be provided with self-help information and/or provided with information about accessing other available resources in the community.

The clinic will be located in the William Mitchell Kelley Boardroom, 875 Summit Ave., St. Paul.

For more information, contact the Self Help Clinic at 651-695-7609.
