The field of animal law is gaining ground as animal-related issues arise in everything from torts to intellectual property. This conference examines pet relief, the basics of equine law, legislative and judicial actions, domestic dog and cat issues, liability laws, and legal status for animals.

Keynote Speaker

David S. Favre, Michigan State University College of Law

Professor Favre has written several articles and books and spoken internationally on animal issues, including animal cruelty, wildlife law, the use of animals for scientific research, and international control of animal trade. His books include Animal Law and Dog Behavior, Animal Law: Welfare, Interest, and Rights, and International Trade in Endangered Species. He is a national officer of the Animal Legal Defense Fund and of the American Bar Association Committee on Animal Law.
