Many lawyers assist clients by planning, negotiating, and documenting transactions. At William Mitchell your instruction in these skills begins your first year in the Writing & Representation: Advice & Persuasion course, where you research, negotiate, and draft a contract.

You may then hone and expand your transactional skills through elective courses, such as Negotiating and Drafting Business Agreements, Employment Law, Estate Planning, the Business Law or Tax Planning clinics, and the Client Counseling or Negotiation competitions.
