John M. Baker is a partner in the Minneapolis law firm of Greene Espel P.L.L.P. He has practiced law in Minnesota since 1988. He received his B.A. with Honors in Political Science from the University of Iowa in 1983 and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 1986.

He clerked for Federal District Court Judge Donald E. O´Brien in Iowa from 1986 to 1988, when he joined the Popham, Haik, Schnobrich & Kaufman firm.

He primarily represents local governments and their officials in constitutional litigation and land use disputes.
