Paul is a graduate of the University of Minnesota (B.A., 1989) and William Mitchell College of Law (J.D., 1994 cum laude). He is certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association as a Civil Trial Specialist. In 2012, he was named as one of only 10 Minnesota attorneys accepted as Charter Members of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. Paul successfully represented several victims of the 35W Bridge Collapse in 2007 and earned the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Professional Excellence Award for his efforts. In 2006 Paul was appointed by the Minnesota Supreme Court to serve on the No-Fault Arbitration Standing Committee and continues in that service. Paul has also served as an adjunct professor at William Mitchell College of Law since 1998 and authored a publication in the William Mitchell Law Review on motor vehicle insurance coverage. Paul is co-Editor of the Minnesota Motor Vehicle Accident Deskbook.
In addition to taking many difficult cases to trial and arbitration, as well as successfully arguing cases before the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court, Paul spends his free time coaching his children in basketball and soccer.
