David Herr is a 1978 cum laude graduate of William Mitchell College of Law. He is a partner at the Minneapolis law firm Maslon Edelman Borman & Brand, LLP, where he heads the firm’s appellate practice team. He has consulted on, briefed, and argued over 100 appeals in state and federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court. He is Reporter for the Minnesota Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules of Civil Appellate Procedure, and an Elected Member of the American Law Institute. He is a Fellow and former President of the American Academy of Appellate lawyers. Herr’s publications include multiple editions of volume 3 of Minnesota Practice: Appellate Rules Annotated (West) and Eighth Circuit Practice Manual (Minn. CLE).
