An Inconvenient Truth is a documentary film about climate change, specifically global warming, directed by Davis Guggenheim and starring former United States Vice President Al Gore. The documentary is based largely on a multimedia presentation that Gore developed over many years as part of an educational campaign on global warming.
The film explores data and predictions regarding climate change, interspersed with personal events from the life of Al Gore. Gore reviews the scientific evidence for global warming, discusses the politics and economics of global warming, and describes the consequences he believes global climate change will produce if the amount of human-generated greenhouse gases is not significantly reduced in the very near future. The film includes many segments intended to refute critics who say that global warming is insignificant or unproved.
All are welcome to the screening of the film.
Please note that there will be free pop, water and chips for the viewers.

The Hmong Solemnization Bill was first introduced in the Minnesota State Legislature in 1991 and again in 2002 and 2003. It was unsuccessful the first two times. Currently, there is some activity on the bill in both the Minnesota House and Senate. This seminar will look at the evolution of the bill, its current status, legal and cultural analysis of the bill, Hmong and non-Hmong perspectives on the legislation, and the issues facing attorneys if the bill passes. The event is free. Application will be made for one standard, one ethics, and two elimination of bias CLE credits. It will fulfill the Justice in a Diverse Society component of the PLP program for those who attend at least one hour of the program.
