Law in London program extended to alumni for CLE credit

Join law students participating in this unique summer abroad education program.  Visit the birthplace of American legal tradition and earn CLE credit in the Law in London Program, offered especially for Mitchell alumni, June 16-20, 2008.

This unique, weeklong cultural learning opportunity includes a course on space law taught by Mitchell Professor Mehmet Konar-Steenberg and a course on English/U.S. comparative law taught by Professor Juliette Wagner, Barrister, London.

Space Law: Exploration and Exploitation of the Ultimate Global Commons, taught by Konar-Steenberg, will cover areas such as:

Civil and Criminal Lawsuits from Start to Finish: A Comparison between the United Kingdom and the

United States, taught by Wagner, compares the litigation process of England with that of the United States. It also examines a number of ethical issues affecting practicing attorneys in England and Wales. This course will cover:

Classes meet Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., so there are ample opportunities to explore London. Participants and significant others are invited to attend the opening reception and tours that are part of the course. 

The cost is $1,000. Airfare and accommodations are on your own.  Space is limited; registration deadline is April 4, 2008. Twenty hours of CLE credit have been applied for.

Courses are held in the London Study Centre in the heart of the Bloomsbury district. The centre is registered on the British National Heritage List and includes the latest technology and modern amenities. It is steps from the esteemed British Museum, Tottenham Court Road underground station, the famed theater district, Covent Garden, Soho, the National Gallery and shopping.
