A Strong Start in Law School

Students admitted to William Mitchell college of Law are a varied and interesting group of people. Some enroll after being away from the classroom for many years,. Others, for whatever reason, are simply a bit apprehensive about beginning legal studies. If you feel you might benefit from an early start on your law school education, consider applying for the Summer Enrichment Program

SEP provides an intensive orientation to law school through:

The Lawyer and the Legal System

Class time is a mixture of lecture and student discussion. You will read two books, prepare case briefs, complete two written assignments, and take a final exam. You can expect to spend about eight hours per week on class preparation. If you need writing assistance, a writing tutor will be available by appointment.

Summer 2008 Program Dates and Times

Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 24-August 7, 2008

A two-hour final exam will be given on Saturday, August 9, 2008, 9-11 a.m., for both sections.

SEP Costs

The Summer Enrichment Program tuition for 2008 is $2,200. Required textbooks for the course will cost approximately $100. Tuition is due when classes begin. SEP tuition may be prepaid from your fall financial aid disbursement.

A Head Start

Comments from Summer Enrichment Program participants:

“This class was great! I learned so much. I was very prepared to handle my classes in the fall.”

“SEP not only gave me a head start on preparing for classes, but it taught me how to be an active member of the class discussion and how to interact with others in a very collegial atmosphere. Above all, it made the built-up stress go away because I have a strong sense of what is expected from me, the schedule I must follow in order to be productive, and an understanding of the material.”

“I would highly recommend this course for anyone who is entering law school. The course eliminates your initial anxiety and helps you get a jump start on succeeding in law school.”
